Now Shipping: Easier SSL Certification Management, Real Time Widget, API Improvements
March 5, 2015 | Eamonn Pascal
Our engineering team has released some improvements that streamline SSL certification management and provide clearer visibility in the control panel and API.
Easier SSL Certification Management
SSL certificates are now bound to accounts rather than individual zones. This makes it easier to manage multiple certificates and do updates in batch form – something particularly useful for hosting platforms.
Before this, you had to go to each individual zone and configure certificates from there. Now you can do everything from one interface in your control panel. After signing in, simply navigate to Account -> SSL
You can make this functionality available on your own dashboard with our API.
Real Time Widget
A real time widget was added to the navigation bar in all MaxCDN control panels. It shows the requests per second that your zones get in real time and serves as an easy and accessible way to understand account activity on the fly.
Now you always have some insight as to what’s going on with your account, no matter where you’re located in your CP. And if you ever need more insight, clicking on the realtime widget will transfer you to your full insights dashboard.
Additional API Parameters
You can now use the MaxCDN API to figure out if your zones have SSL and Flex locations enabled. This further improves the insight available through the dashboard of your choice and further reduces need for MaxCDN control panel logins.
You can find these API updates in our pull zone API documentation …
Note: Flex locations are locations outside of the United States and Europe that can be seen on the MaxCDN network map.
Coming Soon …
In addition to the improvements noted above, we’re launching a revamped DNS and new PoP in South America very soon. As the newest addition to our flex service, the new South American PoP will also benefit from the DNS performance boost.
This is just a taste of the many CDN improvements to come.
