Now Shipping: New and Improved Control Panel Features
May 28, 2014 | Dmitriy Akulov
We’re pleased to announce that we’ve added new Control Panel and Edge Location Map features, and improved one of our Reports functions.
One of our new features allows EdgeRules customers to manage traffic based on the location of your users. We’ve also introduced a new report for Zone Breakdowns (by platform) that’s available to all our users.
The map generated for Edge Locations is also improved for greater ease of use and functionality.
New — EdgeRule Recipes: Country Blocking and Redirection
EdgeRules users can now use a new recipe, which we think will make their lives easier — GEOIP Directives.
This will allow you to control how users see your website based on the where they’re from.
One option will allow you to block users who originate from a specific country code. However, this also allows you to redirect traffic based on the same criteria.
Users can now be sent to subdomains and paths based on their location. For example, users in Germany will see a German landing page. This will also allow you to direct users from certain countries to unique pages with instructions or messages to are meant for them and only them.
The uses for this new tool are truly unlimited if you have a multinational user base.
New — Reporting: See stats by all zones
We’ve added a new report feature, Zones Breakdown. It’s going to be of particular interest to those of you with many zones in your accounts.
This report will breakdown how your traffic is being distributed among your zones, what zones are receiving the most traffic and other data points you’re probably curious about.
Improved — CP3: Edge Locations Reports Map
Our map for Edge Locations is not only faster, but we’ve also made it easier to use.
It’s integrated with Google Maps, which allows easier navigation as well as new features like zooming in and out of countries and geographic locations.
